Orthodontic cases

We offer child and adult orthodontics. Our Orthodontic treatments can be aimed as a definitive treatment or as pre treatment alignment for cosmetic or orthognathic cases.

Child Guidelines: Typically the age of the patient will be 11-13 years old. The premolars will be just erupted or partially erupted. Any cares will need to be assessed and treated prior to referral. Though not essential for an assessment. We can form a much better picture on the appointment with the patient if we have the following information to hand:

- Radiograph: It would be useful to have an OPG and Lateral ceph sent with the referral or the patient can bring them in with them.

- Photos: Though not essential the photos we require are:

• Intra oral: 1/2 retracted front, lateral 1/3 (left and right) With the teeth in occlusion
  (3 photos).
• Extra oral: Full face: front, smile, and profile (in occlusion).

A note to the referring dentist:We have noted an increase in pressure from parents to start othodontic treatment at the age of 10. It is important to reassure them that the correct age for almost all orthodontic treatments is in the early to mid teens. This is media not science driven phenomenon, and very prevalent here on the coast.

Implant placement

We offer single implant fixture placement to replace an existing tooth through to CT guided full rehabilitation.

We can provide a complete restorative service. Placing the implant reviewing it and placing healing collars, abutment and final restoration. Alternatively we can place the implant and the referring dentist can restore the implant. This is a preferred option in simple cases where an abutment can be placed and prepared like a normal crown.

For simple cases a photograph and Radiograph can be submitted electronically in JPEG format and we can often give an idea of the type of implant treatment required.
